I never intended to make a coloured version, I just got stressed from exams, homework, and work for Genki that needed some release before going insane. I needed the practice anyway, since my colouring is shiz and my sense of lighting even worse. I tried hard with this though (go me!) >:3
Anyway, early christmas present/art trade thingy for =KaikiFreAk. She's a great artist, so be sure to check out her gallery and fav lots of stuff. Both these characters belong to her.
The drawing of Kheint (left) was made while imitating her style of drawing (Jinx was drawn in a random chibi-going-nuts style), but the colour scheme is my own. I like his hair better this way, though the original is really pretty too~.
I don't know why I gave him eyes of different colour or slit pupils though >_> I just imagined that this was how his eyes normally look, being a vampire and all, and that he uses coloured contacts to hide it or something, I dunno XD
Well, I spent a shiz-load of time on this drawing (more than any other drawing thus far); sketching, inking, and colouring, so I hope the she, and y'all, will like it.
Everything done in Macromedia Flash MX (such a pain >_< )
ROFL now you sound like a real artist "IT'S NOT THAT GOOD D: I SUCK D8" Dude, have more faith in your skills, this is your first time colouring such a complicated piece and you should be really, really proud!!!! *__________________* FFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
I like how Kheint's nose look more natural here, and the way you played with the layers and gradients is very nice.. Or sth, I dunno if dreamweaver has layer mode options, just assuming that. I also like how cute Jinx turned out! And you've successfully drew his movements btw, I don't think I said that before.
You could work more on the light source, but it's not like it has to be spot on the first time you try cell CG. If you ever take commissions in the future, then it's probably a bad idea to get the original colours wrong, though I don't mind since you were experimenting, and it look pretty cool!
Anyway, I really appreciate that you spent so much time on this! I really, really like it and I hope you don't feel like you've wasted your time =u= Thank yoooou!!! I'm looking forward to receiving the original *A*
Thanks for the feedback, dude! 8D If you ever have any advice/feedback for other stuff I draw, please don't hold back! I can always use it to improve in some aspect.
To be completely honest, I originally didn't intend on ever showing you the coloured version ^^' I only did because you happened to be on Twitter at the same time as me and responded to my tweet right after I had finished colouring Kheint XP
I'll try to remember the original colours advice though, just in case I ever do a commission! >:3 It makes sense after all.
And I'm sorry to disappoint you on one thing though; I don't have Dreamweaver and I have no idea of what cell CG is or how it works either (this is the first time I've ever heard about it) ^^' Everything was done in Macromedia Flash MX *aka* MS Paint++.
But you're right, I totally need to get better at working the light source! I actually just recently found are tutorial on it, so I look forward to having the time to try it out 8D
Anywho, thanks again for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
Oh, and no, of course I don't feel like I've wasted my time. I'm getting a drawing by you in return for the lineart after all XP Also, that you actually like the coloured version just makes it even more worth the effort =] So I guess I'm kinda glad I showed you the coloured version after all XP
Thanks a lot, ne~
